Hello and welcome to my gradual re-entry into the world of rail photo websites after the untimely demise of fotopic back in March 2011.

For the time being, this site will remain somewhat embryonic compared to the back catalogue that were on my previous trains-are-hell site, but as and when time and patience permit, I intend slowly but surely rebuilding, and indeed including more gems from colour print scans. It is amazing to think that even a decade ago that things were so, so different on the UK railway scene.

I have been lucky enough over the past two decades of owning a camera to chronicle what I grew up with, and through contacts and indeed working in the rail industry, I have been able in some cases to obtain some unusual and rare shots from time to time, among the more standard stuff which is also in plentiful supply. I have also been lucky enough to have forged many good friendships and learnt from similarly minded photographers, many who are still with us, and one or two who sadly aren't. I view this hobby as just that, and not as a competition or an ego-outlet among apparent world-beaters, and that is how I believe it should be.

To conclude, I hope that you enjoy your browse around and please do pop back from time to time.
